Well Hey Y’all! How was your Memorial Day Weekend??

Mine was low-key and that was really nice. We spent some time with friends and were treated to a fabulous meal and beautiful sunset one evening. And as things have begun opening up here, we ventured to an outdoor shopping center and it was honestly just a little weird.

We were super careful – using every precaution with social distance, masks and practically bathing in sanitizer. Only a few stores were even open and pretty much no one was there.

At this point, going out is honestly not worth the anxiety or the work! Haha! I’ve always really enjoyed shopping but, as hard as it is for me to believe, these past 10 weeks I’ve developed a true appreciation for shopping online and being at home!

The whole time there, I was mindful about touching anything and always ultra aware of how close I was to the lady patiently waiting to stroll down my aisle….

I do enjoy clothes and all the things- but maybe before, shopping for me was an outlet of sorts. Just time “away” – mostly with my daughter and son – just browsing at a carefree pace – sharing a laugh and a bit of fun just being together.

I think I’ve learned more than ever that we don’t need to be out to enjoy our time. Home is the sweetest (and safest) place to be these days.

Oddly, these last several weeks being together 24/7 has been a bit of a gift to me – last year I was too sick to enjoy their (Meggie and Landon) constant presence. But this COVID lockdown threw us together without cancer looming over our heads – our focus was elsewhere and that felt good. And for that, I am very grateful. Who knows when or if we will ever spend that much consecutive time together again?

Yep- I think I found the hidden gift for me in this pandemic. I honestly wasn’t expecting it – I couldn’t see the good – the blessing in disguise. But it’s there, as clear as day.

What about you – have you thought about what good you’ve gleaned through it all? Time with loved ones, a new hobby or a renewed love for an old one?? Let me know in a comment!!

Today I’m sharing several great blazers! Blazers are a strange thing for me – I LOVE them IF they fit well and have some give!

I think there’s nothing that can pull an outfit together quicker than a well-cut jacket!!

THIS ONE is SO Good! Almost a nautical vibe, but not so much so that you’d look like a sailor!! The details are beautiful – double breasted and those gorgeous buttons add so much to this simple look!

I think a great blazer pairs well with almost anything – skirts, pants, denim or a cute dress!

They’re perfect as the main attraction to your look or simply to have on hand should you need to throw it over your shoulders for an after dinner stroll!

Here are some of my other favorites!
